A new(er) tool for business is podcasting. It’s definitely the new business card- create a podcast to talk about yourself, your company, let your audience “in” on your world and conversations.
Podcasting has proven to be an effective way for me to establish new relationships & connect on a closer report with a new business connection.
Let’s start from the beginning interaction. I’ve been to countless networking events and have been caught a time or two not carrying my business card along- however, why even bother with the business card when you can text your website landing page that is filled with all the information you would like to share anyway? On my landing page I have several podcast episodes that do a great job explaining in-depth my expertise AND share my personality.
How does this help?
It takes a stranger from “I’m looking forward to getting to know Sarah piece by piece, from one interaction to the next” to “Sarah is an expert in podcast set design, social media, and content creation, and here are stories I remember from her show that establish all of those areas of credibility for me”
Even if they don’t listen or watch the full episode, they don’t have to. My site and show do a great job giving just enough information that my connections feel stronger based on the digital content I am providing VS a small piece of paper that’s bound to get lost!
